WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
FUTURE PROOF BERMUDEZ PROJECTS

Since 2011, Bermudez Projects has been showing dynamic work by the next generation of American artists. We’ve dedicated ourselves to giving space and respect to artists the old art establishment chooses to ignore — especially Black, Latinx, Queer, and Women artists.
If you’ve been to one of our openings, you know how exciting and energizing they are. However, we are facing a challenging moment: the building that houses our gallery was sold; and the new owners have evicted us from the space we’ve called home for 10 years. Ironically at a time when we need thought-provoking, comforting, mindful, or beautiful art, and programming that supports our community, we are being faced with the uncertain future of this gallery. Now more than ever, Bermudez Projects is calling on each and every one of you to support us so that we may continue our mission of amplifying public access to the arts.

We’re asking for your support by buying art or contributing* directly to our General Fund. We are grateful for any amount you can give — $15, $20, $30 — or purchase you can make, and with artworks available starting at $200, there’s something for every budget. Learn more about our Collector Benefits and recognition opportunities available [PD] to supporters beginning at the $250 level or more each year.

When you buy art from Bermudez Projects, you’re doing more than sustaining a business. You are supporting the artists’ creative vision and artistic legacy; the gallery’s exhibitions that foster the artists careers; and the public programming and outreach that introduces and educates audiences to these artists, their careers, and the impact they’re making today.
You’re also supporting our efforts to get our artists’ work into major museums so they can take their rightful place in the pantheon of artists. To see the normally unflappable Ana Serrano tear up when OUR collectors donated one of her works to LACMA; to experience the joy felt by Leticia Maldonado when Glendale’s Museum of Neon Art AND the Neon Museum, Las Vegas each acquired one of her neon sculptures; and witnessing Josh Patterson’s excitement when one of his large scale photographs entered the permanent collection of the Museum of Art and History, you know how important this is.

You’re also supporting our rich programming that extends beyond our gallery walls, ensuring public access to the visual arts through exhibits, publications, public programs, special events, and multimedia.
And so you can feel confident that your money is going to the right cause, we’ve broken down where your money goes on the below handy pie chart. This isn’t information most other galleries are willing to be transparent about.

Friends, this situation is serious. Your support is not only crucial to the future of Bermudez Projects and our artists, you are investing in the future of art. The emerging artist of today — the ones you see on our gallery walls — are the ones your children and grandchildren will be inspired by in the future.
*We have a vision and a mission, but please note that Bermudez Projects is not a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
